How Common Is Cart Abandonment?

Very common. Roughly 7 in 10 shoppers who add something to a cart do not complete the purchase. On mobile it is closer to 8 in 10. The rate is higher for first-time visitors and lower for returning customers with saved payment details. Cart abandonment is not a problem to eliminate. It is a rate to manage. The goal is not zero abandonment. It is identifying which part of the funnel is losing the most recoverable customers and fixing that first.
