Will Wero Replace iDEAL?
No. Wero will not replace iDEAL. iDEAL 2.0 is the future of the iDEAL standard — updated infrastructure, cross-border capability, and deeper integration with European payment systems. Wero is a digital wallet built on top of that infrastructure, targeting consumers who want a mobile-first payment experience across multiple European countries. For Dutch ecommerce stores, iDEAL remains the payment method to prioritize. Removing or deprioritizing iDEAL in favour of Wero would be premature and would cost conversion in the Dutch market.
